AUTOMOTIVE | Sales rise for the fifth consecutive month

The car sector is hit, but not sunk. The latest data indicate that even without having the health of few years ago, one of the most affected sectors by the crisis begins to recover health.

This fact goes through many and varied reasons, some of which do have good feelings for the future.
The main reason of the increase of sales of private vehicles in Spain is, undoubtedly, the aids that the buyers are getting with the 2000E Plan, which allows the sector to go on its slow rattle at least until the recession is clear.
In January, 70.130 cars were registered in Spain, representing an increase of 18,1% over the same month in 2008. It is good to remember that in January of 2009 the sales over 41%.

Although this is a misleading fact, since the funds for these aids are far less infinite, we should remark that Spain has registered one of the worst car sales data in Europe during the economic crisis, so any improvement is remarkable.

What it does have a better feeling are news as the award of Audi Q3 to the facilities of Martorell (Barcelona) or the news coming from France that Renault wants to convert Valladolid in the European production center of the electric car. Renault bets strongly on the electric cars, and for these the Spanish plants located in Valladolid have to be crucial keys in the manufacture of these new means of transport. If everything continues as now the model Twizy will be produced from 2011.

These data, along with the latest news that the 2000E Plan will continue during the whole year 2010 with an endowment of 100 million euros, make to have hopes of being able to have a year 2010 with fewer surprises and a year 2011 with many more projects in which participate.
