AER - ATP | The future of robotics in Spain

In Barcelona, in the headquarters of the Spanish Association of Robotics and Production Techniques, AER/ATP, it has been held the renewal of the board of directors of this association.

The new posts have been elected for four years; the names and position are as follow:

• CHAIRMAN - Mr. Juan Luis Elorriaga
• VICE-CHAIRMAN - Mr. Jesús Sánchez
• SECRETARY - Mr. Luis Basañez
• TREASURER - Mr. Miguel Seriola Rodas

Ingeniería de Aplicaciones, S.A. congratulates the new board of directors wishing that the coming four years of renewal provide all kind of fortune and prosperity to the Association.
Mr. Miguel Seriola Rodas, our General Manager, (Treasurer of AER/ATP) makes a short summary of how it was founded and what kind activities are carried out by this association:

The AER-ATP was founded in 1985, when we had a fleet of robots of 688 units in Spain (we should remember that in 1979, there were only 5 robots registered), at present the national fleet of robots is made up of 29.029 units. These data correspond to some activities carried out with rigor by the association since its foundation until now, he really makes de statistics in Spain regarding to the quantity of robots and it reports to the IFR (International Federation of Robotics) from which he is also Founder member.

I mention next some relevant actions:

• First European Conference of Robotics and Medicine
• Pioneer in the European training programs COMETT-LEONARDO DA VINCI
• Two world Congresses of Robotics, 1992 / 2009-11-02
• Automotive Conference in Zaragoza, Valencia, Barcelona
• Aeronautic Conference AERO-ROBOT in Madrid
• Food and Agriculture Conference in Vigo, Valladolid, Pamplona, Murcia, Girona, Barcelona.
• International Conferences in Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, Mexico, India.
• Secretay of the CTN 116 “Automated Industrial Systems” of AENOR.
• Observatory of evolution of the sector. 18 years dedicated to the Sector statistics studies.
• First study of Service Robotics, Census and Trends, Offer training in Robotics.
• Pioneer in Training courses in Robotics for Spanish companies.

AER/ATP is part of the work group for the safety standards for machines of AENOR.

We publish six extensive informative bulletins of technical quality about the current robotics in the World, illustrating new items on the most recent automatic and robotic technologies.

As member Founder of the IFR and as Big Country we are classified in this federation, we have two nominations in this federation, there are only three countries in the world that have two candidates, and the rest has only one.

In the Association we have a library for any enquiries and we coordinate European research projects.
