Equiplast (Barcelona) | International Exhibition of Plastics and Rubber

Ingeniería de Aplicaciones, SA (IDASA), company specialized in the development of automated cells and highly sophisticated equipments will participate in the International Exhibition of Plastics and Rubber (Equiplast), which will be held in Fira de Barcelona from 20th to 24th October 2008 (stand B-283, hall 4, level 0)

In the 15th edition of the Equiplast fair, IDASA will present a series of optimized machines: VOTAN A (Airbag), VOTAN C-BIM (Cut), VOTAN W (Weld) and a welding cell of plastic components by ultrasounds. Besides, they will be exhibited some cutting samples of the VOTAN A in instruments panels of car: DAB (Driver AirBag) and PAB (Passenger AirBag).

VOTAN A, laser perforation for integrated solutions of the Airbag.

VOTAN A is a micro perforating system that enables by means of laser beam to make a pre-cut getting a residual wall always constant. In this way it is achieved a constant and controlled break resistance, being this able to be adjustable depending on the necessity of the application.

Another of their great advantages is its invisibility in the outer face of the pre-cut, being able to be made in visible pieces in the final product.

There are other remarkable advantages like the new opportunities of design for cars, the 100% of control and documentation of production or the treatment of the multilayer material with decorative textile or leather layers.

This technology can be used for the micro perforating of all kind of plastic materials. At present, most of cars companies use this technology to carry out the pre-cut in the panel for the positioning of the airbag.

VOTAN C-BIM, laser cutting

VVOTAN C-BIM is an automated cell of laser cutting in 3D, highly reliable and versatile that enables to make any kind of geometry, being easily programmable and adjustable to the customer's requirements.

The laser technology offers a lot of advantages, from which we can remark its extraction system and filtering of residues, the maximum accuracy and dynamics of the 3D contours, the cauterization of the cut, and the possibility of perforation to a certain depth on materials made up by many layers, amongst others.

This technology enables the cut of all kind of plastic materials, multilayer materials, textile and organic, such as leather, rubber, cork or wood. This system is mostly used by the car sector for cutting the pieces of the inside like columns, armrest, decorative material or pieces from the outside like petrol tanks and sealer rubber for glass.

VVOTAN W, plastics welding by means of laser penetration.

VOTAN W is a system based on the laser welding, able to weld all kind of plastics in a quick and accurate way. The laser welding does not need mechanical contact between the tool and the pieces to be welded, eliminating in this way the marks on the surface or vibrations which may damage the materials.

The system enables to weld elements of complex forms being able to program the welding trajectories in 3 dimensions. The exact control of the energy input, the control of the inertial energies, the imperceptible joining and visually perfect, the possibility of using it in those materials sensitive to heat and the non- dragging of particles are some of its main advantages.

This system is used in the automation industry, the medical equipments, electronics, mechatronics and consumption goods.
